Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 6, 2026
Valeur Signature Foods is a consumer brand operated by Valeur Commodities Corp. (“Valeur,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
We respect your privacy and collect only the information we reasonably need to manage reservations, payments, delivery, customer service and—when you choose—updates about Valeur Signature products.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use our website or communicate with us, we may collect:
your name;
email address and telephone number;
billing and delivery address;
city, province and postal code;
reservation and order details, including quantities requested;
delivery instructions and access information you choose to provide;
payment status and transaction identifiers;
correspondence with our team;
newsletter and product-interest preferences, including interest in Valeur Signature Chocolate;
website usage information, such as browser, device, IP address and cookie information; and
information required for product traceability, customer support or a product recall.
Please do not include sensitive personal information in your delivery instructions.
2. Payment information
Payments are processed through Stripe and connected Odoo services.
Valeur does not receive or store your complete payment-card number. Payment providers may collect and process payment information according to their own privacy policies and security practices.
3. How we use your information
We may use your information to:
process and confirm your reservation;
apply your reservation payment to the final purchase price;
issue order confirmations, receipts and invoices;
confirm whether your address is within our delivery area;
plan and complete delivery;
send reservation, availability, payment and delivery updates;
respond to questions or concerns;
maintain food traceability and contact affected customers if a safety or recall issue arises;
prevent fraud and protect our website and systems;
meet accounting, tax, regulatory and legal obligations;
understand and improve our website and customer experience; and
send marketing or product-launch communications when you have consented to receive them.
We do not use an optional chocolate-interest selection as consent for unrelated marketing.
4. Transactional and marketing communications
Messages required to manage your reservation, payment, delivery, food-safety notice or customer-service request are transactional communications. You may receive these messages even if you have not subscribed to our newsletter.
Marketing communications are optional. If you subscribe, each marketing email will include an unsubscribe option. You may withdraw your marketing consent at any time without affecting an existing reservation.
5. When we share information
We may share limited personal information with organizations that help us provide our services, including:
Odoo, which supports our website, orders, customer records and communications;
Stripe and other financial institutions involved in processing payments;
email, website-hosting and technology providers;
employees or service providers involved in preparing and completing delivery;
accountants, legal advisers and other professional advisers; and
government, regulatory, law-enforcement or food-safety authorities when required or permitted by law.
These organizations receive only the information reasonably required for their role.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
6. Processing outside Canada
Some technology and payment providers may store or process information outside British Columbia or Canada. When information is processed in another jurisdiction, it may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies or government authorities under the laws of that jurisdiction.
We select established service providers and use reasonable contractual, administrative and technical measures to protect personal information.
7. Cookies and website information
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for functions such as shopping-cart operation, checkout, payment and security.
If optional analytics or advertising technologies are enabled, we will provide appropriate information and choices through the website or cookie settings.
You can adjust cookie settings through your browser. Disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the website or checkout from working correctly.
8. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
complete reservations, orders and deliveries;
provide customer support;
maintain food traceability and recall records;
meet accounting, tax and legal requirements;
resolve disputes; and
enforce our agreements.
When information is no longer required, we securely delete, destroy or anonymize it, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold. These include limiting access, using reputable payment processors and protecting our business systems.
No method of online transmission or storage is completely secure. If a privacy or security incident occurs, we will investigate and provide any notification required by law.
10. Accessing or correcting your information
You may ask to access or correct personal information Valeur holds about you.
We may need to verify your identity before responding. In limited circumstances, applicable law may permit or require us to withhold certain information.
You may also ask us to withdraw consent for optional uses of your information. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed and may not apply where information must be retained for legal, accounting, food-safety or contractual reasons.
11. Links to other websites
Our website may contain links to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and Valeur is not responsible for those websites.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our operations, services or legal obligations. The effective date at the top of the page will be updated when changes are made.
If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide additional notice or seek consent where required.
